Three YUP Books Win IPPYs
The final results are in for the 2006 Independent Publisher Book Awards. We are pleased to announce that three books published by Yale University Press have been selected as winners in national categories:
* The Art of Frederick Sommer: Photography, Drawing, Collage (Frederick Frances Sommer Foundation) — Winner, Fine Arts category
* Composers’ Voices from Ives to Ellington: An Oral History of American Music — Winner, Performing Arts category
* The Plausibility of Life: Resolving Darwin’s Dilemma — Winner, Science category
The Independent Publisher Book Awards, launched in 1996, are designed to bring increased recognition to the deserving but often unsung titles published by independent authors and publishers. Established as the first awards program open exclusively to independents, nearly 800 “IPPYs” have been awarded to publishers throughout North America.
