Win a copy of Swedish Wooden Toys
Did you play with wooden toys when you were young? We did. Wooden blocks, wooden doll houses, wooden rocking horses, wooden train sets, trucks, puzzles, spinning tops, tool boxes… and we loved them. In fact, one of our colleagues spent many very satisfying hours flipping around on wooden gymnastics equipment: little wooden parallel bars made for her by her mother, an avid amateur woodworker. The daughter had developed an intense (ultimately short-lived) fascination with gymnastics after watching Nadia Comaneci in the 1976 Olympics.
What was your favorite wooden toy? Do you still have it? Would you tell us about it, please?
Submit your contest entry using the form below. The first three respondents will receive a copy each of the superb new book, Swedish Wooden Toys, edited by Amy F. Ogata and Susan Weber, published in association with the Bard Graduate Center. (We posted a sneak peek on our blog back on June 20th.)
