Yale University Press is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a major grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to establish a new electronic portal on which curated and customizable art and architectural history content will be made available to consumers and institutions. In this groundbreaking endeavor, we will be joined by the Art Institute of Chicago, one of our exclusive museum publishing partners.

A selection of award-winning and critically acclaimed backlist titles will be digitized and made available on the portal; the Press also aims to secure rights for the books’ illustrations and, where merited, to update and/or enhance the illustration program with new photography.

The beta will be launched in early 2017, and the project’s long-term goal is for other museum and art book publishers to bring core content to the site.
