Thanks to the Atlantic, now we have proof!
It’s definitely that time of year! Yet another Yale Press title has made a year-end best-of list. This time, Europe Between the Oceans has been named one of the best books of 2008 by the Atlantic.
Archaeologist Barry Cunliffe’s
sprawling 10,000-year history of the European peninsula was called “compelling and
judicious, an extraordinary book,” and, we think, the perfect holiday gift for the
historically-minded reader. If you need further convincing, check out the Atlantic‘s glowing review, in which Benjamin Schwartz calls it “further proof that its
publisher produces the most beautiful and intelligently designed works of
scholarship in the humanities.” We’re positively honored!
